Explain Hub, switch & bridge

Hub
: -hub is the most basic networking device that connects multiple computers or Create the small Network (star topology). Unlike a network switch or router, a network hub has no routing tables or intelligence on where to send information and broadcasts all network data across each connection. Working in a physical layer.

Switch:- Switch is a computer networking device that connects devices together to a computer network by using packet switching to receive, process, and forward data to the destination device using MAC table.
Bridge:- Switches are layer2 devices that connect computers, printers, and servers within a segment building or campus. A bridge filters the data before sending it to the destination host, and a bridge is slower as compared to switch.
Types of Switches
Unmanaged switches:- These types of switches are used in SOHO networking. Unmanageable switches cannot be configured. They possess a preinstalled default configuration.

Managed switches:- Managed switches are either used in a campus or in a corporate network environment. These types o switches are configurable.

Important functions of layer2 switches

Address Learning:- Layer 2 switches and bridges remember the source hardware address of each frame received on an interface, and they enter this information into a MAC database called a forward/filter table.

Forward/Filter Decisions:- When a frame is received on an interface, the switch looks at the destination hardware address and finds the exit interface in the MAC database. The frame is only forwarded out the specified destination port.

Loop Avoidance:- If multiple connections between switches exist for redundancy, network loops can occur. Spanning Tree Protocol(STP) is used to stop loops while still allowing redundancy.
